Upcoming Stuff

Hi everyone!  Thanks for continuing to visit the site and check out my shift light project.  I have some new stuff in the works - just wanted to update everyone.  I do plan to release a kit with all the electronics for the shift light -- v2.1.  I have upgraded a few components to cut down on the cost and size of the kit (as well as adding a few convenient features to the code). Expect to see some changes to the website in the next month or so (ie: a product page with products on it).

Thanks again for your continued support.  Keep shifting!

Can't wait! Just saw your video recently. I'm looking forward to buying the kit as soon as it's available.

Hi, just been reading up on your project, very impressive and more so that you are sharing this information. I'm thinking of buying the parts myself to build this for a sprint/track car, do you expect to have your kit available with dec-jan'16, if so I might wait instead?

Keep up the great work. Thanks.

Hi EON,
Thanks for stopping by. Yes - that's the plan, I've started stocking up on parts and will have the first PCB's prototyped and verified in the next week or so. So keep an eye on the product page. :-) I'll also send out an email to everyone that signs up on the homepage. Thanks again for stopping by, and I look forward to seeing the install on your sprint/track car!

That's great and thanks for the quick response. Just another couple of quick questions if I may, the PCB you are having made, what is that intended to carry (I'm thinking of how to house this in the car)? Also, can I do a straight swap to an Ardunio micro or nano (cheaper and smaller from what I can see)?

Thanks again.

No problem. The whole kit is being converted to the Nano platform, just because the footprint is smaller and nothing really changes. The PCB will be a 'shield' that will plug right into the Nano. It will house the improved circuitry (I'm playing with optoisolators), new, improved 5V regulator, and other discrete components. In the future, as I develop more functionality, it'll house additional sensors and chips if needed. The kit will also come with flying leads for easy expansion of cables, a small project box with mounting tabs, and screw terminals to make all connections secure and easy. I plan to offer the kit as a true-kit (a bag of parts) and a pre-fab version that I assemble and ship out.

I'm sold, sounds ideal for me. I'll be watching intently ;). Thanks
