Where's my order?
Orders are processed weekly on Thursdays and shipped Friday. You will receive an email with tracking information when the label is created on Thursday.
I wrote you an email, but haven't received a response. C'mon people!
We apologize for the delay. It usually takes us a few days to get caught up each week with emails, questions, and orders. Please be patient, we will respond, it just takes a little longer than the big box online stores.
Does the shift light work with my car, motorcycle, or other vehicle?
Unfortunately, we do not maintain a list of all vehicles or installation diagrams. However, it should work in most applications where any other tachometer would normally work. The shift light requires a digital RPM signal generally produced by an engine computer or ignition controller in the form of a 0-5v or 0-12v square wave. However, it will work with AC signals. It does not work using inductive or capacitive pickup (wrapping a wire around an ignition wire), tapping into the ignition high-voltage wire, CAN, OBDI/II, or any other communication protocol. To determine if the shift light will work in your vehicle, please consult your repair manual, use Google, or hit the forums. If you have questions, send us an email via the CONTACT page.
I built the kit and connected power, but it does not turn on! Why?
There can be several causes for this. First, check if you can enter the menu. Push the knob down and you should see the LEDs animate, and the display will show the menu. If pushing the knob doesn't enter the menu system, then immediately disconnect the power and check the circuit board.
Things to check:
My Shift Light powers on, but doesn't show the RPM. -OR- I get a strange RPM number on the PPR menu screen.
There is a problem with the RPM signal. The shift light goes into 'sleep mode' when no RPM signal is detected. You should be able to push the knob to enter the menu system though. You may notice a random RPM number under the PPR menu item.

Things to check:
- Poor solder joints or solder bridges. Check all solder joints to ensure they are correct.
- Component orientation or polarity. The optoisolator, wire headers, and diodes require correct placement to work. The diodes have a white or black band that must face a certain direction. The optoisolator has a white dot on it. The wire sockets also must be in the correct position. Please check these are oriented correctly.
- The LED and Power wires share similar colors. Ensure the power wires and LED wires are correct.

Things to check
- The RPM wire. Ensure it's stripped, clean, and well seated in the 2-pin screw terminal. Check the connection to your RPM signal source too.
- The RPM signal type. The shift light is designed to work off a standard digital tachometer signal. These are normally produced by an engine computer or ignition controller in the form of a 0-5v or 0-12v square wave. If you have an older vehicle, or one without a computer, you may need to use a 'tach adapter' to convert the signal.

- Check the shift light with an RPM Simulator. If you don't have a spare Arduino, then you can eliminate a problem with the shift light assembly with a crude test. Tap the green wire rapidly on the + 12v power source, you should see values display on the screen.
