Popular and versatile APA102C, a digitally-addressable LED strip on a black, flexible PCB with adhesive backing. These are available in 144 per meter, or roughly 1 LED per 6.9mm. These can be driven with a number of commonly available libraries and work with nearly any Amtel development package.
All LED's are bench tested by Chippernut prior to shipping.
APA102C LED strips are cut at custom lengths - meaning they will come without wires, headers, or any electrical preparation. You will need to solder wires or terminals to the flexible PCB.
These are sold per SINGLE (1) led.
When combined with the purchase of a kit, the total number of LEDs will be delivered in one continuous strip. For example, the if the kit comes with 16 LEDS, and you purchase an additional 4 LEDS, you'll get one strip of 20.
The APA102C LEDs draw approximately 60mA per LED at full-brightness white. Each color (RGB) draws 20mA per LED. This means the maximum recommended number of LEDs is 25 if you plan to display 100% white. If you know that your application will not require 100% white, either because you choose a different color or reduce the brightness, feel free to order more. Keep in mind, it's common for applications in direct-sunlight (ex: motorcycles) to prefer 100% white during the shift-flasher, as it outputs the most light and is easier to see.
